Day 05

Woke up extremely early today to do my very rough storyboard. So we had consultation today and I should Alan my storyboard, finalized character and my learning contract.

He said that my learning contract is fine and I just need to change what i have achieved for my primary and secondary aim. He helped me with it and I am finally done with it. As for my character design, it has been improved but then certain things like the guy’s leg and the girls side view needs to be edited. My storyboard is fine but he suggested me to add more funny scenes. He gave an expample like when the girl point at her teeth to say that he has chili stuck in his teeth but he misunderstood and thought she wanted a kiss so he leans forward. She waved her arms and said its his teeth that his the chili not a kiss. Then there was an awkward silence then she remembered that she brought watermelon. Thats where the incident happened.

So yah, other than that Alan said I’m good to go. I’m so excited to start production. Oh and my title needs to change.

That’s all.

Day 04

We had a group meeting today. Just to share our ideas and what we had done so far. I showed my character design and learning contract and Alan said that I should change my secondary aims because why must I only judge on one thing when I could judge it in general.

As for my character, the male does not match with the female so I need to go bak to the drawing board, I did ask help from Kezia, Ubin (year 2), Dion and Rachael. Eventually, I managed to get it done today.

Anyway, I just need to do my storyboard and maybe start recording my character voices so I can add it in my timeline in my animatics.

My character designs are below and how it changes to my finalized character.

Thats’s all

Day 03

We had class today so I did my character yesterday and showed it to Alan today. He approves the male character but then it is not finalized yet. So, I want to re draw it back. I did ask for Julian’s advice about my story but he said it was too cliché. He suggested me that the story should be more like the male, blind and the female, deaf. I told him that it was emo and he said that emo sells. I tried doing emo and serious but that is really not my thing. I love to do comedy and just make people laugh because laughter is the best medicine.

Well, Julian did ask Alan if my story was cliché and he said that he was fine with simple stories as long as we are able to put it across with our animations. So in other words Alan disagrees with Julian. I dont want to change my story because I like the way it is. I might be adding some stuff though.

That’s it for today!

Day 02

FYP has finally begun. We had to split in a group of three or four just for consultations. So, we shared our stories and improve on it if we could because helping each other is the best. Well, during internship, I already thought of a story and currently I have modified it like five times. Finally, it is being approved by Alan unless I changed to the guy tripping and accidently hit the girl who was drinking the juice. I changed that and well, my story is done. Now I’m left with character and environment design. Oh, I could start on my storyboard or just go straight to my animatics.

This is my finalized story, please leave do leave comments:

Title: Imperfection is perfect

Justin and Ann both met on the net, long chats on msn and the phone, when finally; they decided to meet for the first time.

They met at the middle lane park by the oak tree. Ann prepared the food and waited. Justin came on time. Feeling confident and calm, he walked up to Ann but then he accidently tripped over a branch and fell on her. Unfortunately, she had a glass of orange juice in her hand. He took soviet that Ann brought and tried to wipe the stain off but she just remained calm, gave a polite smile and told him to take a seat.

Ann passed him a hotdog sandwich and they chatted while eating. During the conversation, weird things start to happen. Mustard and chili fell onto Justin’s new shirt. Instead of telling him, Ann laughed and pointed to his shirt. He looked and laughed as well but then he has bits of chili in between his teeth.

Ann was rather disappointed as the date was not as well as she planned. After finishing their hotdog sandwich, Ann had an idea of a watermelon eating contest. The loser has to clean the area up. Justin agreed and she took out a ¾ cut watermelon. He gave this confused look but still agreed.

She was too excited that she finished it first and gave a really huge smiled that revealed her missing teeth. Justin burst out laughing and pointing at her teeth. She realized and placed her missing tooth where it belongs and teared a little bit. He reached over and touched her shoulder and said look at mine. He took out his full set of teeth.

Moral of the story is: No one is perfect therefore imperfection is perfect to Justin and Ann.
